The tournament lasted just over a week, and 80 competitors from 18 nations, including South Africa, Sweden, Spain, and New Zealand, represented their countries. Despite the forecasted rain, competitors enjoyed good weather during the championships. An evening BBQ followed the draw for the round of 32, and the Championship Final at the Hurlingham Club on Sunday 23 July was held under bright sunshine. American Matthew Essick, the runner-up in 2020, and Englishman Robert Fulford, the 2013 Champion, competed in the final. Robert Fulford emerged as the 2023 World Champion, securing his sixth World Championship victory.
The Rockwell team enthusiastically attended the tournament’s closing ceremony at the Hurlingham Club. They witnessed the presentation of the World Croquet Championship trophy to the winners, as well as the Shield and the Plate.
